Indian shuttler PV Sindhu, a two-time Olympian, kicked off her Paris Olympics 2024 campaign on Sunday by crushing Fathimath Abdul Razzaq of the Maldives in straight games in the women’s singles group round match.
Following several careless mistakes, PV Sindhu quickly evaluated the situation, took charge of her first Olympics 2024 match, and accelerated to an 11-4 lead.
With the first game over in just 13 minutes, the former world champion defeated Fathimath, ranked 111th in the world at the Paris 2024 Olympics badminton tournament.
In the second game, the result of the match goes similarly. PV Sindhu quickly took the lead by scoring the first four points at the 2024 Olympics.
But Razzaq took advantage of Sindhu’s mistake to close the score to 3–4. However, the Indians extended the lead to 10-3, making it an entirely one-sided game once more.
Even though Sindhu ultimately had 14 match points, the world No. 13 only needed one to win the tie.

But in a 44-minute Group C league match, Ashwini Ponnappa and Tanisha Crasto’s women’s doubles team lost to Kim So Yeong and Kong Hee Yong of South Korea, 18-21 10-21.
