Law enforcement organizations are getting ready to handle the bandh. The Director General of Police, UR Sahoo, has instructed district superintendents of police in Rajasthan to maintain peace and order and communicate with local organizations.
To promote better cooperation, Sahoo said, “We have asked our officials to organize meetings with groups calling for the bandh, as well as with market associations,” according to The Times of India.
Reason for Bharat Bandh on 21 August 2024
The Supreme Court’s ruling to remove the “creamy layer” from the SC/ST quota has sparked controversy, prompting the request for this demonstration. Rajasthan Police have been instructed to work with local SC/ST organizations and enhance their deployment to guarantee calm protests.
Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph of Jaipur has already opened communication with organizations that back the Bharat Bandh tomorrow. To avert any possible confrontations or disturbances during the demonstration, the authorities are acting proactively.
This Bharat Bandh follows other recent rallies in India that exposed simmering socio-political tensions around the nation, such as statewide hospital strikes over violence against healthcare workers and a local trade union uprising in Bathinda, according to the TOI report.
What Will Be Closed Tomorrow Due to Bharat Bandh?
Protesting the reserve ruling is the aim of the demonstration. Public transportation and ambulance services are often closed on these days while emergency services like ambulances are open.
Due to the region’s heightened sensitivity, police in Western Uttar Pradesh are on high alert. To protect the people during the protests, authorities are taking several steps.
