As part of their current “Music of the Spheres” world tour, British rock sensation Coldplay is scheduled to make a return visit to India in Mumbai for their first-ever full-length performance. The band’s first significant performance in the city since their brief presence at the Global Citizen Festival in 2016 will take place on January 18 and 19, 2025, at DY Patil Stadium.
BookMyShow Live, the entertainment platform that is organizing the show, released the statement. In the upcoming weeks, fans may anticipate the introduction of a very special surprise guest. The event’s tickets will go on sale at 12 PM IST on September 22.
Coldplay said in a statement that beginning on November 22, 2024, a restricted quantity of “Infinity Tickets” will be offered for sale. These tickets, which run about €20 (about Rs 2000), are meant to make the performance more affordable for a larger number of people. A maximum of two tickets may be purchased by each fan, and they will be placed next to one another. When tickets are picked up at the box office on the day of the concert, the precise seating arrangements will be revealed.
Coldplay’s 2016 Indian tour was unusually short, with lead singer Chris Martin and famed composer AR Rahman performing for less than ten minutes while entertaining the audience with a blend of Hindi and English.
The band’s most recent album, “Music of the Spheres,” which was published in 2021, features the hit song “My Universe,” which was created in conjunction with K-pop star BTS, and has cosmic elements. Since their founding in 1996, Coldplay—known for their catchy rock sound and moving songs that tackle love, life, and pain—has cemented its place as one of the top alternative rock acts.
Having sold over 100 million records globally and winning numerous Grammy Awards, including Song of the Year for “Viva la Vida,” Coldplay is still a major player in the music business, enthralling listeners all over the world.
