Most adults require 7 to 9 hours of sleep every night for maximum performance. A Japanese guy, however, asserts that for the previous 12 years, he has only slept for 30 minutes every day. The man claims his “work efficiency” has increased due to his new sleep schedule.
Who Is Daisuke Hori?
Daisuke Hori, a 40-year-old man from Hyogo prefecture in western Japan, reportedly told the South China Morning Post (SCMP) that he had trained his body and brain to operate normally with little sleep.
Hori is a business owner who enjoys painting, music, and mechanical design. A Japanese Man started cutting back on his sleep 12 years ago to have more hours of activity each day. Eventually, A Japanese Man sleeps 30 to 45 minutes a day only.
He asserts, “You can avoid drowsiness as long as you exercise or drink coffee an hour before eating.”

To investigate Hori’s assertions further, Yomiuri TV in Japan ran a reality program called “Will You Go With Me?” with him. Hori once slept for a mere 26 minutes, woke up with a lot of energy, and even made it to the gym, according to the reality show.
Those who require extended periods of concentration for their profession get more from quality sleep than duration. Doctors and firefighters, for example, take fewer breaks while still working at high levels of efficiency, Hori told the source.
According to Hori’s online resume, he has trained over 2,100 people to become “ultra-short sleepers.” One of the students even told Yomiuri TV that Hori helped her reduce her sleep duration from eight hours to just ninety minutes.
