Israel-Hamas War: According to Israel, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has recently called for an alliance of Islamic countries to oppose what he terms as “Israeli arrogance, banditry, and state terrorism.” Erdogan has called for an alliance of this kind in response to allegations made by Turkish and Palestinian officials that an Israeli soldier killed a Turkish-American lady who was taking part in a rally against the settlement development in the West Bank.

Erdogan added, speaking at an Islamic schools’ association gathering outside of Istanbul, that Turkey’s recent attempts to repair ties with Egypt and Syria are a component of a larger plan to combat the risks of regional expansionism, which he sees as also endangering Syria and Lebanon, according to ANI.

Israel Katz, the foreign minister of Israel, retaliated against Erdogan, saying he was inciting violence and hatred to help Hamas. Erdogan’s claims, according to Katz, are dangerous lies. Israel is only protecting its borders from Hamas and the “Shiite axis of evil,” which is supported by Iran.

Katz said on X, “For the benefit of his Hamas allies, @RTErdogan persists in plunging the Turkish people into the flames of animosity and violence.Israel “wants to conquer countries in the region, including Turkey,” he declared, and he is urging Islamic nations to band together in opposition to the Jewish state. This is a potentially harmful untruth.

Turkey denounced earlier in August the Tehran killing of Hamas Political Bureau director Ismail Haniyeh. The Israeli government’s peace initiative was criticized by the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement that offered condolences to the Palestinian people.

Turkey promised to keep supporting the Palestinian cause while accusing Israel of trying to take the Gaza conflict regional. The announcement came after Press TV and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) released claims that Haniyeh had perished in a Tehran attack.
