‘Insulting people is a sign of weakness’Rahul Gandhi, defending Smriti Irani, asserted that humiliating others is a sign of weakness and that winning and losing are inevitable aspects of life.
In a rare move, Congressman and Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi supported Smriti Irani of the BJP and urged people to “stop being nasty” to her. He said that while it’s natural to win and lose, it shows weakness to make fun of other people. Gandhi’s post alludes to the online abuse that Irani has been subjected to since she left the official house in Lutyens’ Delhi after losing the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 in Amethi.
“One will unavoidably win and lose in life. I beg everyone to stop using derogatory language to disparage Smt. Smriti Irani or any other leader for that matter. “Humiliating and insulting people is a sign of weakness, not strength,” he declared.
Irani departed her official residence at 28 Tughlak Crescent in Delhi after losing the seat to a dedicated member of the Congress, Kishori Lal Sharma. Irani was defeated by Rahul Gandhi in the Amethi seat, but she lost by 1.4 lakh votes. Irani was dubbed a “giant slayer” after she defeated Gandhi in Amethi during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
Her loss was referred to as a “humiliating defeat” by Gandhi and Congress supporters, who also chastised her for having celebrated Gandhi’s death earlier. Following the announcement that Gandhi would run from Raebareli rather than Amethi, Irani declared that she was proud that a regular BJP employee had driven him out of the constituency.
“I believe the Congress nomination and the Gandhi family’s decision to withdraw from a fight in Amethi are important because, in my opinion, it is the declaration of the Congress party’s defeat from Amethi,” she had stated prior to the election.Gandhi had escaped Amethi before, according to what she had said.
