Maharashtra Bandh News Today: In response to the sexual assault case in Badlapur, the Maha Vikas Aghadi declared a Maharashtra Bandh for August 24.
In protest over the alleged sexual assault case of two young girls at a Badlapur school in the Thane district, the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) has called for a “Maharashtra Bandh” on August 24. Seat-sharing for the upcoming assembly elections was also considered during the meeting on Wednesday when the decision was made.
Who all are supporting the Maharashtra Bandh 2024?
Congress, the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT), and the Sharad Pawar-led NCP (SP) are the MVA’s allies.
“People in Maharashtra are upset, and FIRs have been filed against the protesters,” stated Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut. In reaction to the Badlapur event, the MVA has decided to call for a Maharashtra Bandh on August 24.”
Jitendra Awhad, leader of the NCP-SCP, remarked, “This government is unconstitutional.” A Maharashtra Bandh is required due to the increase in criminal activity.”
Congress chief Balasaheb Thorat went on, “We have called for a bandh on August 24 due to the seriousness of the Badlapur incident.”

Schools and Colleges
Since the government has not informed us of any closures, business will continue as usual. However, businesses that close on Saturdays will stay closed.
Buses and Metros
The Maharashtra administration has not backed the Maharashtra Bandh on 24 August 2024, despite calls for it from opposition parties. Expect buses and metros to run normally as a result.

We anticipate a halt to train and bus services. Join the bandh to ensure the safety of your daughters and sisters, regardless of your caste or religion.”
Banks
Banks will be closed across the country On August 24 because it is the fourth Saturday of the month. The second and fourth Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, and regional holidays are all closed for banking, as per RBI regulations.
