Mahindra Thar Roxx has two extra doors in addition to a few other outward elements that set it apart from the regular Thar.
August 15 is the launch date of the 5-door Thar called the Mahindra Thar Roxx. The Indian carmaker has started to tease the next SUV, and this is our first glimpse at the longer Thar’s appearance. These are the five main distinctions between the normal Thar and the Thar Roxx.
The Front Grille Design has completely changed
Mahindra has updated the grille to give it a more aggressive appearance. The three-door model’s smaller six-slat grille has been replaced with a larger, bolder design. A front camera is also included in the Thar Roxx grille, suggesting that a 360-degree configuration is possible.
Mahindra Thar Roxx has New LED Headlights
The Thar Roxx will have new LED headlights with C-shaped LED DRLs that wrap around them, replacing the halogen headlight system of the existing 3-door Thar.
Extended Wheelbase
The extended wheelbase of the Thar Roxx, which permits the installation of additional doors, is the primary distinction between the two versions of the Thar. Because of this, the long-wheelbase Thar’s extra row of seats should provide more legroom.
Brand New Alloy Wheels
The 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels on the Thar Roxx 2024 will be far more stylish than the monochrome 18-inch alloy wheels on the offroad vehicle with three doors. Additionally, it has square wheel arches as opposed to the three-door model’s round ones.
New Tail Light Setup
We saw a peek of the new 5-door Thar’s tail light configuration, even though the back profile hasn’t been fully hinted at. LED tail lights featuring an inverted “C” pattern will be installed. It’s also noticeable that the Thar 3-door has rounder wheel housings, whilst the Thar Roxx’s wheel arches are squared off.
Mahindra Thar Roxx Features and Safety
Mahindra has not yet revealed any details on the longer-wheelbase SUV’s interior, but fresh spy images of Mahindra Thar Roxx reveal the SUV to have a beige inside. Keyless entry, a push start/stop button, a panoramic sunroof, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a digital driver’s display are among the anticipated features.
Six airbags (probably as standard), front and rear parking sensors, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) are expected to be part of its safety package.
Expected Powertrain
The petrol and diesel engines used on the basic Thar will be used in the next Thar 5-door, albeit perhaps with higher outputs. It will be available with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission, with two engine options: a 2-liter turbo-petrol and a 2.2-liter diesel. Both rear-wheel drive (RWD) and four-wheel drive (4WD) versions are anticipated to be available.
Mahindra Thar Roxx Expected Price
The Mahindra Thar Roxx price in India is likely to start from Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom). It will be a larger alternative to the Maruti Suzuki Jimny, while directly going up against the 5-door Force Gurkha.
