The granddaughter of Bollywood icons Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, Navya Naveli Nanda ,recently enrolled in the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Ahmedabad, marking the beginning of an important scholastic journey. Navya Naveli Nandahas decided to pursue an MBA through the Blended Post Graduate Programme (BPGP) over the course of the next two years. This decision has generated a lot of attention and conversation on social media.

Her acceptance into IIM Ahmedabad hasn’t, however, been without criticism. Some questioned the BPGP MBA program’s credibility after she made her announcement on social media, calling it a “real MBA.” Others wondered if Navya’s celebrity ancestry made her eligible for special admissions.

Promila Agarwal, an associate professor at IIM Ahmedabad, responded to the commotion by commenting on Navya’s acceptance on X, formerly Twitter. “She has a strong resume, by the way. CAT is not always required. Whatever the case, congratulations to all of you for having the guts to enroll in such a demanding program. PS: I’m excited to read her articles on the challenging life at IIM-A, just like other students are,” Agarwal remarked.

Navya Naveli Nanda has an equally remarkable academic history. She graduated from Fordham University in the United States with a bachelor’s degree in digital technology and UX design. In addition to her academic pursuits, she is a social entrepreneur who oversees the gender equality-promoting non-profit Project Naveli. She oversees a portion of the family business owned by her father as well.

Navya, 26, posted multiple photos from the verdant IIM Ahmedabad campus to Instagram to show her fans how excited she was. “Dreams do come true!” she remarked in one of her posts. The best faculty and people for the next two years. The 2026 class of the Blended Post Graduate Programme (BPGP). She also posted pictures of herself with new acquaintances she made at the institute, as well as one where she was seen standing proudly next to the IIM sign while wearing a black suit. Navya posted an Instagram story of a cake-cutting party in which she thanked her teacher Prasad for helping her pass the CAT and IAT admission examinations.

Navya seemed unconcerned by the talk and is eagerly welcoming this new phase. Notably, while being from a family with strong ties to Bollywood, Navya’s mother, Shweta Bachchan, recently stated that, in contrast to her well-known cousins, her daughter does not intend to pursue a career in acting.
