Sarah Hildebrandt vs Vinesh Phogat: On Wednesday, Sarah Hildebrandt of the United States will wrestle against Vinesh Phogat for the gold medal in the women’s 50kg division in the Paris Olympics 2024.
In 2024, Vinesh Phogat will compete in her final match at the Summer Olympic Games. The 29-year-old will have the opportunity to go all out when she competes in the women’s 50kg wrestling division final on Wednesday, August 7. In an attempt to take first place on the podium, the Indian wrestler will compete against Sarah Hildebrandt of the United States (USA).

Sarah is expected to pose a challenge to Vinesh because she finished third in the Tokyo Olympics three years ago. She and Maria Stadnik of Azerbaijan shared the medal. China’s Sun Yanan and Japan’s Yui Susaki won the silver and gold medals, respectively.
In the pre-quarterfinals, Sarah defeated Alina Vuc of Romania 6:0. In the quarterfinals, she defeated Miglena Selishka of Bulgaria 12:2. But she fell against Yanan of China in the semifinals, costing herself the opportunity to capture an Olympic gold medal.
But after defeating Oksana Livach of Ukraine 12:1 in the bronze medal match, she made apologies. The 30-year-old now gets the opportunity to go all out against an impressive Vinesh in Paris Olympics 2024 day 12.
Sarah Hildebrandt with a plethora of gold
Sarah Hildebrandt hasn’t yet won an Olympic gold medal, but she has seen success in several international contests. She took home seven gold medals at the Pan Asian Championships in the 50kg, 53kg, and 55kg categories.
Sarah received a quota berth for the Olympic Games in Paris by winning the bronze in the women’s 50kg event at the World Wrestling Championships in Belgrade, Serbia, the previous year. Sarah announced earlier this year that she would be competing in Paris 2024 at the US Olympic trials in State College, Pennsylvania.
She defeated Ibtissem Doudou of Algeria, Feng Ziqi, and Dolgorjavyn Otgonjargal in the Olympic pre-quarterfinal, quarterfinal, and semifinal, respectively. Sarah Hildebrandt is in 6th position in the world ranking in women’s freestyle wrestling.
