Turkey Erdogan Warns Netanyahu About Ground OperationsErdogan strongly condemned Israel’s military offensive in Lebanon, calling on the United Nations and other bodies to act swiftly to halt Tel Aviv’s actions
On Tuesday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan sharply condemned Israel’s military offensive in Lebanon, urging the United Nations and other international agencies to act quickly to halt Tel Aviv’s activities.
“Israel will be stopped sooner or later, no matter what it does,” Erdogan declared.
Israeli officials stated on Monday that their troops had begun ground operations in Lebanon, and confrontations between the two sides continued into Tuesday.
Speaking at the Turkish Parliament’s opening session, Erdogan warned that Israel’s leadership, motivated by “the delirium of the promised land and religious fanaticism,” could target Turkey after Palestine and Lebanon.
“Israel’s hostility goes to Turkey. “We will fight this state terrorism with every tool at our disposal to protect our country, our nation, and our independence,” Erdogan was reported as saying by a Turkish media outlet.
He also lambasted the Israeli government for pursuing “expansionist policies” that, he claimed, could someday jeopardize Turkey’s territorial integrity.
Erdogan compared Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Adolf Hitler, saying, “Just as Hitler, who saw himself in a giant mirror, was stopped, Netanyahu will be stopped in the same way.”
Earlier, Erdogan stated that if the UN Security Council fails to halt Israel’s onslaught in Gaza and Lebanon, the UN General Assembly should recommend the use of force in accordance with a 1950 resolution.
